Eric S. Schweiger, M.D. is a Board Certified dermatologist in private practice in Manhattan. He practices cosmetic and general dermatology, with a particular focus on laser and light based treatments, the treatment of adults with acne, aesthetic enhancements with fillers and the evaluation and treatment of hair loss.
Dr. Schweiger has participated in numerous basic science and clinical research studies over the years and is a clinical laser trainer, teaching other physicians how to use lasers.
In clinical research, Dr. Schweiger’s accomplishments include initiating the first prospective clinical study using photodynamic therapy to treat hidradenitis suppurativa and conducting the first clinical trial using a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser to treat dermatoses papulosa nigra. In addition, Dr. Schweiger recently published the first case report using Restylane?to treat a patient with cleft-lip.
Dr. Schweiger is a Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan With Distinction and his doctor of medicine from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where he was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Schweiger completed his internship in internal medicine at New York University Medical Center and his dermatology residency at the University of Kansas, where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Schweiger is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
