How Botox for Men is Different

Men who crave a younger look no longer need to feel ashamed about seeing the dermatologist for Botox injections. According to an article in the Daily Mail, the number of men getting Botox is on the rise and in fact has tripled since 2011. What has changed in our culture over the past few years is that cosmetic procedures have become so accepted that they are just another step in overall good skincare. While men who care about their appearance and those in competitive careers are the ones mostly to seek out Botox injections, it's now acceptable for all men to get cosmetic procedures. While the look and feel of Botox does not vary from gender to gender. Does the Botox procedure itself need to be altered depending on which sex is receiving the injection? Men tend to have thicker skin than women, meaning that a man may require more Botox than his female counterpart. The most popular areas men like to receive their Botox is in between the eyebrows (aka the "11s") and the forehead. Botox was recently approved for use around the crow's feet. Men have been responding with an increased demand in injections around the eyes. Botox provides a nice lifted look around the eyes, something welcomed by both genders!
