Botox for Men

Women are not the only sex that doesn't want to grow older looking wrinkly and worn.  More and more men are realizing that they want to age gracefully, meaning that they want to embrace their years without looking "old."  Dr. Schweiger explains that, "Many of our male patients are coming in for Botox and fillers.  In the past few years, more men have been asking about cosmetic treatments, but lately they have been taking action.  No man wants to look older than they feel." As with Botox treatments for women, Botox for men can be very natural-looking.  Men who want to avoid a wrinkles appearance for business or social reasons can keep their skin smooth with Botox treatment every 3-4 months.  Botox for men is one of the fastest growing treatments available in dermatology.  It is important to see a dermatologist with experience treating men, as their facial structure is different than that of women (for example, their eyebrows do not arch in the same fashion as women.) Botox works by blocking the neurotransmitters that stimulate muscle contraction.  In areas like the glabella (between the brows), forehead, and crows feet around the eyes, men can now have Botox treatment to relax those muscles and avoid the formation of deep wrinkles in the most common areas.  The treatment itself takes only a few minutes and involves only very minimal discomfort.  There is no downtime after Botox treatment and the effects take approximately one week to be appreciated.
