Celebrities Get Acne Too

Although it can feel like you are the only person with acne, that is not the case.  According to the American Academy of Dermatology, up to 85% of people have acne at some point in their lives.  Acne can affect anyone, and acne can occur at any age.  Even celebrities get acne! A recent article, published in The Huffington Post, revealed that Emma Stone has struggled with acne for years.  In fact, according to the article in The Huffington Post, many of her scenes in a recent movie had to be airbrushed to cover her breakouts!  Dr. Schweiger notes that, "The article about Emma Stone reminds us that acne can affect anyone, and it is important to begin an anti-acne skin care regimen as soon as your acne starts.  Emma took Accutane as a teenager, but only for a portion of the recommended time.  Had she finished the course of Accutane, or remained on a maintenance regimen to fight acne, perhaps she would not have experienced her more recent breakouts.  However, some people do experience recurrences of acne later in life, even if they do everything 'right.'  Its important to see your dermatologist to begin treatment, as soon as the breakouts begin." At Clear Clinic, we offer same-day appointments for cortisone injections.  These tiny shots of anti-inflammatory medication are helpful for getting rid of acne quickly, before a big event.  Not all breakouts can be airbrushed out, so its important to know where to go to get rid of a pimple as soon as possible!
