What is ear lobe repair?

Ear lobe repair is the process of repairing stretched, split, or torn ear lobes.

Why would someone consider ear lobe repair?

If you are tired of stretched, torn, or disfigured ears, earlobe repair is for you. Ear piercing can cause many types of damage including stretching, tearing, and keloid scarring. Earlobes can then be completely torn or the area of the piercing can just be widened. This can be caused by trauma or wearing heavy ear rings. What is a typical procedure like?

Repair of a torn ear lobe is a relatively common procedure that takes only 15 to 30 minutes. It’s performed under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis.  After the anesthetic wears off, you may feel mild pain for a day or so. Sutures are generally removed after 7 days.  You can safely pierce your ear lobe again 2 to 6 months after repair.
