Filler 411: New Research Shows Filler Ingredient Helps Knee Pain

Hyaluronic Acid, the main ingredient found in fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm, has been found to help ease knee pain. Hyalyronic Acid (dubbed HA), which is found naturally in younger healthy-looking skin, fills in lines and enhances the lips. Researchers recently found that when HA is injected into the knee area, it offers pain relief from osteoarthritis. HA is considered to have fewer side effects than other medications and treatments used to treat the knee area. It also relieves the pain better than acetaminophen. This isn't the first time a cosmetic injectable ingredient has been associate with pain reduction. Botox was originally used to treat migraines.
