How to Prevent Acne and Wrinkles

In the midst of worrying about wrinkles forming, its not fair to have to worry about acne as well!  Unfortunately, this is the case for many women in their 30's and 40's.  Adult acne has arrived and your focus may shift from preventing wrinkles to preventing this new acne.  Thankfully, there are treatments available that address both issues! Prescription strength retinoids can be the ideal treatment for women in their adult years who want to both prevent acne and wrinkles.  Retinoids, such as Retin-A Micro and Tazorac, treat acne by regulating skin cell turnover.  This process keeps the pores clear of excess oil and debris, so that acne-causing bacteria is not attracted to the area.  Simultaneously, retinoids regulate and stimulate collagen production of the skin.  The result is that, even if your goal is simply to prevent acne, you are also using a medication that will smooth out fine lines and prevent wrinkles from forming in the future. Other acne treatments, such as the Isolaz acne laser, Photodynamic Therapy, Blue and Red Light Therapy, chemical peels, and the Clarisonic brush, can also help to provide an anti-aging effect while you are treating adult acne.
