Melissa Schweiger Kleinman

Melissa Schweiger Kleinman is Director of Skincare and Product Development at Schweiger Dermatology in New York. Melissa, a seasoned author, journalist and beauty expert, joined Schweiger Dermatology in 2012 to help provide insight in the latest skincare trends and aid in the evaluation and development of cutting edge dermatology products.

Melissa, a graduate of New York University, holds a B.A. in journalism. Her background includes holding editorial positions at several national magazines including Seventeen, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire and Hamptons Magazine. In addition, Melissa was also the beauty editor for several years at Sephora.com, where she oversaw content for the beauty retailer’s website and catalogs as well as worked with brands on creating a unique voice and point of difference. Melissa went on to write their book, Sephora: The Ultimate Guide to Makeup, Skin and Hair from the Beauty Authority.

Melissa’s articles on beauty, skincare and anti-aging have appeared in numerous national magazines, including Marie Claire, Shape, Seventeen, Martha Stewart Weddings, New You, Redbook, In Style and Women’s Wear Daily. She has appeared on TV and radio as a beauty expert.

Ever since becoming a mom, Melissa has had a special interest on cosmetic ingredients and their safety and efficacy profiles. She spent over three years writing and researching her upcoming book Belli Beautiful: The Essential Guide to the Safest Health and Beauty Products for Pregnancy, Mom, and Baby, due out April 10, 2012.

Melissa’s new position at Schweiger Dermatology represents the next chapter in her professional life and she is excited to team with her brother, Dr. Eric Schweiger. Melissa brings to the table a strong knowledge of beauty and skin care, and in combination with Dr. Schweiger’s medical and scientific background, they are now teamed together to evaluate today’s skin care products and to develop tomorrow’s.
