New Anti-Aging Treatments Announced from the American Academy of Dermatology

Looking younger has never been easier. As the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology approaches, a media release from the American Academy of Dermatology, highlights a slew of new treatments to target the signs of aging on the face. Regarding the report, “It is true that there are several filler options now  that can create a more youthful and fuller appearance, instead of just targeting fine lines and wrinkles," NYC Dermatologist, Dr. Schweiger comments. "Many of our younger patients are now opting for treatments earlier with fillers such Juvederm and Restylane, and it is getting more socially acceptable for 20 and 30 year-old patients to consider these options when they have cosmetic issue they want addressed." The AAD report also comments that the newest filler to get FDA approval is calcium hydroxylapatite, branded as Radiesse in the United States, and already a popular treatment with Dr. Schweiger's NYC Patients. Radiesse which restores facial volume and promotes collagen production. The face starts losing volume after the age of 40 and can result in shadowing and a hallowed look where there was once plumpness.
