What is a skin tag?

Skin tags are small, soft growths on healthy skin.  They are very common and can be skin colored or brown-ish.  Skin tags are benign growths, most often occurring on the underarms, neck and groin area.

Who gets skin tags?

Anyone can develop skin tags, though they are most common in overweight people and those with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.  59% of all people have had a skin tag at some point in the life.

Can skin tags be removed?

If you don’t like the appearance of skin tags, or they are getting caught on your clothing or jewelry, your dermatologist can remove the skin tags for you.  It is a simple procedure performed in the office with very little discomfort and no downtime.
