Why Winter is a Great Time to Get Started with Tattoo Removal

Although your tattoos may currently be covered by your winter apparel, now is the time to start thinking about removing tattoos that will become visible when you switch to your summer wardrobe.  Dr. Schweiger explains that, "Although newer techniques allow us to remove tattoos more quickly than in previous years, tattoo removal still takes an average of 4-20 treatments.  The newest tattoo removal techniques allow up to 4 treatments to be performed in a single visit, which cuts the length of time it takes to remove a tattoo dramatically.  However, with just six months until summer, it is important to start your tattoo removal treatments soon, in order to ensure that your treatments will be completed by the time you're back in the more revealing clothing of summertime." The newest technique for tattoo removal allows the amount of visits required to remove a tattoo to be cut significantly.  When utilizing the R20 tattoo removal technique, up to 4 tattoo removal treatments can be performed during a single visit.  Traditional tattoo removal requires a single visit for each tattoo removal treatment, with each visit separated by a 4-6 week interval. In addition to being able to perform more tattoo removal treatments during each visit, therefore decreasing the number of visits it takes to reach 4-20 treatments, it is speculated that performing multiple treatments during a single visit may allow each treatment to work better.  Research suggests that the new tattoo removal method allows the laser to penetrate more deeply and produce a more dramatic improvement with fewer treatments.
