Your Plan of Attack on the First Signs of Aging

The best time to prevent aging is right when you start to notice it; it is much easier to prevent wrinkles or to lighten new sun spots than to get rid of existing wrinkles or dark brown spots on the skin.  For this reason, it is important to formulate your plan of attack on the first signs of aging! If you've noticed wrinkles forming on the forehead: Now is the time to start Botox treatment.  Tiny injections of Botox can relax the muscles of the forehead, to prevent them from being overactive and forming those pesky horizontal lines across your face at rest. If you've noticed brown spots on the cheeks and upper lip: This may be a condition called melasma, which is pigmentation that forms on the skin as a result of sun exposure and hormone activity.  Chemical peels, proper skin care, and laser treatments can restore your skin to its normal coloration. If you've noticed that your lips look a little thin: Hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Juvederm and Restylane, can be used to plump up your lips.  The treatment lasts for nearly a year after each visit. If you've noticed that your neck is starting to sag: Schedule a Thermage treatment before its too late.  Thermage is a non-invasive treatment that stimulates collagen production in the skin, which tightens and contours the skin without the need for invasive surgery. If you've noticed that the texture of your skin is changing: Consider a laser resurfacing treatment, such as the Fraxel laser or Fractional CO2 laser treatment.  These treatments stimulate skin cell turnover, to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles that have started to form on the skin.
